Vaulting Ambition

Vaulting Ambition, originally uploaded by fotofacade.

A rare glimpse of the wonderful filigree intricacy of the early C16th choir stalls contrasted against the majesty of the C13th choir arcade and vaulting

The Rose Window

The Rose Window

Over the Christmas period I went over to Beverley and was lucky enough to get up into the roof of the South and North Transept of Beverley Minster. Built in the C13th, it was remarkable to see the other unadorned side of the building, including some original timbers with carpenters marks on them. This photo is behind the Rose Window on the South Transept.

Beverley Minster

Tabblo: Beverley Minster

Beverley Minster, Yorkshire UK, is one of the most remarkable medieval buildings in Europe. Beverley is one of the most underestimated towns in Europe.

Both internally and externally the views and vista's are spectacular. What is pleasing, is the willingess to provide continuity in terms of artistic input; thus we have a contemporary piece of stained glass set into a medieval frame.
