Downtown in Manchester UK today to photograph the up and coming Northern Quarter which was once home to the rag trade but is now a receptacle for bright and contemporary architecture cross referenced with the worlds best of Victorian warehouse architecture.
Also photographed the Mancat College in Harpurhey to satiate my current fetish for all things contemporary and all things Bauhaus;)
The photo is of the recently completed Shudehill Interchange (see photo above) by Ian Simpson Architects

The Bauhaus, Dessau
Below is a video linked from Google Video. It is of the Bauhaus at Dessau, Germany built in 1926 by Walter Gropius. Just click the play button (sometimes you need to do it twice) and enjoy. Its 27mins long and there are some breathtaking shots of this beautiful building. Thanks to The East Coast Architectural Review for spotting this one.
I'm sure that the striking £7.1m Mancat College in Harpurhey (2006) by Walker Simpson Architects has its genus in the Bauhaus building at Dessau.
